Private Duty EMT

The basic function of a Emergency Medical Technician is to assist patient with activities of daily living, provide basic medical care to all private duty patient and assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the RN in charge of the case.
Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, family members, significant others, client facility staff, volunteers, physician office staff, administration staff and other agency nursing personnel, supervisors, payroll, and staffing personnel.

Job Requirements
  • Emergency Medical Technician training and certification as required by State or County
  • Current BLS/CPR certification for all EMT levels
  • Working telephone number
  • Reliable transportation/valid driver's license
  • Two (2) reliable work references
  • Favorable criminal background check
  • Satisfactory 90 day and annual evaluations
  • Negative PPD or check x-ray within 6 months of hire
  • Health Statement/Physical exam within 6 months of hire
  • Must be able to communicate in English, ability to read and write in English
  • Must be able to work in a pet friendly environment 
  • Must have experience working home health and with people with disabilities 
 
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
  • Aptitudes required for work of this nature are good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
  • Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
  • Must be able to lift 200 pounds or more with upper body strength
Shifts Available 
  • Position requires flexibility - shifts are 7am-6pm or 3pm-10pm
