The primary responsibility of COO oversees the planning, design and implementation of all fiscal, regulatory, accreditation, compliance and operational aspects of the designated programs included in the region/division. The COO  will also oversee with the assistance of program and regional directors, the development of program, facility and division budgets. Must have Behavioral Health Experience (Substance Abuse Preferably) and ability to manage all aspects, of the marketing, clinical and operations of the facility.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in development and implementation of the program’s policies and procedures, ensuring the overall ongoing quality of the services provided including start-up of new service locations in the assigned region.
  • Develop a team of dynamic leaders throughout the programs, region, and division.
  • Responsible for the budget as well as monitoring, tracking and evaluating key performance indicators that impact the achievement of quality and financial goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement. Routinely identify opportunities for improvement at the department, program, regional and company level.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of programs to facilitate the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Create an environment with program directors that promote transparent communication and mechanisms to continuously improve services. Provide program directors and other leaders with support and resources in a timely manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with local/regional referral sources, payers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for growth both through organic growth and acquisition.
  • Assist Program Manager with program modifications needed for changing needs of clients.
  • Strong focus on customer service and instilling this philosophy throughout the region.
  • Support the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives.
Education and Experience Required
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in business management or a behavioral health related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Behavioral Health or Human Services field including supervision, direct service, and program planning
  • Experience in clinical treatment and management of clinical programs
  • Experience managing multiple facilities.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health systems and treatment modalities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, State/National Licensing agencies, CARF/Joint Commission regulations and appropriate third-party payers (example, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magellan Medicaid
