Our Client seeks a Director of Nursing for their well established facility. Psychiatric experience a major plus.  The DON Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care.  Provides nursing care as directed by the medical staff in accordance with the multidisciplinary treatment plan objectives, policies, and procedures of the facility and the Nurse Practice Act.  Maintains standards of nursing care as established.  Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning.  Oversees the nursing department providing information from Senior Management to the Nursing Team Leaders.  Acts as a resource to the department with regards to Policies and Procedures within the company.  The Director of nursing is expected to know and understand all job functions within the nursing departments and must posses strong leadership skills. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work in a supportive, caring and non-judgmental manner with staff and patients in order to gain confidence and cooperation with patients. Ability to function calmly in crisis situations. Ability to plan and organize work and adequately to express ideals orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, patients, outside agencies, families and the general public. Common tools currently used in the ethical practice of nursing.  Ability to care plan and identify appropriate nursing interventions. Organization ability and excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Current licensure in the state  of Florida as a registered nurse 
  • BSN level education from an accredited college or university.
  • Clinical experience in the treatment of addiction is preferred. 
  • Current CPR certification. 
  • Knowledge of DDAP, CARF and Joint Commission standards. 
  • Must have a clear level 2 federal background check.
