Job Summary
This position oversees the operations of 3 CV and 3MED. The Director of Cardiovascular Services will work closely with the managers of the units, plan, direct and coordinate all operational activities for areas of responsibility. He/She will develop policies and procedures as well as the quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility. The Director develops the capital and operating budgets in areas of responsibility.  Ensuring areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed by hiring and retaining competent staff. As a member of Good Samaritan Hospital's management team the Director makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital. 
 
Job Duties
  1.   Responsible for development and enforcement of policies and procedures that ensure quality patient care
  2.   Responsible for ensuring adequate Human Resources are available in areas of responsibility
  3.   Responsible for maintaining acceptable turnover in areas of responsibility
  4.   Ensures operations run within budgetary guidelines
  5.   Responsible for quality and performance improvement activities in department and multidisciplinary
  6.   Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines as set by federal, state, local and other agencies (i.e., JCAHO, Medicare, CMS)
 
Qualifications
Education:
B.A. / B.S. required
M.A. / M.S. preferred
 
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
California Registered Nurse License
BCLS Certification      
ACLS Certification
NIH Stroke Scale
 
Experience/ Skills:
3 yrs. work experience in area of supervision required.
7-9 yrs. of progressive hospital/nursing management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Evidence of experience which defines competency in 3 CV, hospital and healthcare management
Evidence of experience in successful administration and leadership of organizational management programs.
