Position Summary
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for following access protocols pertaining to clients being referred, assessed, and admitted into the continuum of care services, may facilitate registration of clients into the centralized management information system.
  • Responding to all inquiry calls, completing intake assessments, scheduling and facilitating admission to levels of care offered in facility
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with family members and potential clients
  • Understanding of how insurance applies to substance abuse treatment
  • Ability to discuss finances with family members and potential clients
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary
Experience and Education Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • At least three years of experience in a call center environment with substance abuse admissions focus
  • Customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of 12 Step recovery
  • Candidate should possess an innate ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to maintain the highest level of compassion.
  • Knowledge of First Aid, Crisis Intervention and CPR
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including: Confidentiality, Patient's Rights, Professional Code of Ethics, and HIPAA
  • Excellent phone skills and email etiquette
  • Ability to represent the program to referral sources and other outside agencies in a courteous and professional manner
