Our client is currently seeking a Medical Director (Psychiatrist). 

The Medical Director / Psychiatrist examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats psychiatric disorders and/or patients with a chemical dependency. He/she prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques. He/she also diagnoses psychiatric disorders and prescribes and evaluates the effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures. The incumbent of this position recommends the disposition of psychiatric cases and advises on problems related to mental health and the prevention of mental disorders. Additional duties include:
  • Conducting Psychiatric Evaluations
  • Performs physical examinations, provides preventive health services and conducts follow up appointments for patients
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients psychiatric & health care needs.
  • Records physical findings, formulates plans and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
  • Documents the delivery of care in the individual's electronic medical record.
  • Discusses cases with clinical & nursing staff in order to prepare comprehensive patient care plans
  • Participates in treatment team meetings
  • Orders, schedules and/or performs laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
  • Prescribes and monitors medications
Experience and Education Required:
  • Board Certified Psychiatrist, MD or DO
  • At least 2 years within the addictions field
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders
  • Doctorate from an accredited university
  • DEA license preferred
  • Must have acquired all required state licensures
  • Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
